About
Memories take place in places.
Harrison Heritage Maps is about places people know, and the memories tied to them.
The idea is simple: to help people reconnect with the places that have shaped them, or that still mean something to them now. Cities, neighbourhoods, streets you’ve walked a hundred times. The kind of places that stay with you even when you’re not there anymore.
Each map starts with a real place, beginning in Sheffield. The aim isn’t just to make something decorative, but something familiar. Something that might feel like a return to somewhere you recognise.
We focus on the feeling of a place as much as the layout of it. Not just where things are, but what it’s like to know them.
Each area is carefully selected, cropped and highlighted to draw attention to the parts of a place that resonate the most. The aim is to keep the character of the original map, whilst emphasising small details that make it interesting, personal or familiar.
Harrison Heritage Maps started in Sheffield. It was born out of an interest in how places shape people, and become part of their personal history.
It’s early days, and we’ll be expanding to other cities and places that are meaningful, historic or both.
Designed for anyone who’s ever looked at a place and thought: I know that. I’ve been there. That means something to me.
